Adjustments of Lap-Band and Intragastric Balloon SPATZ3

Spatz 3 Intragastric Balloon Adjustment

After a determined period of time, Balloon patients will need or it’s recommended they have their adjustment for maintenance. The adjustment will help the patient feel full sooner just as how it felt in the beginning of the balloon placement. This will help the patient to continue to lose weight throughout the remaining months until it’s removed. The adjustments are done through an endoscopy, just as how the balloon was placed and will be removed.

Lap-Band Adjustments (Fills)

Lap-band fills restrict the passage of food into and through the stomach to reduce the amount of food that a person needs to eat in order to feel full. As a result, less food is ingested and weight loss occurs.

Adjustments are done in the X-RAY department of the Christus Muguerza Hospital.

A different treatment will be needed for special cases such as pregnancies, patients with recent abdominal surgeries or with stomach illnesses.

PATIENTS THAT HAD THE LAP-BAND PLACED BY OTHER SURGEONS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME IN OUR FILLING CENTER TO CONTINUE THE FOLLOW-UP.

The long-term follow-up is the key for success.
